Our Story & Mission

Alamo City Youth Flag (ACYF) was founded in 2022 by Antonio “Coach Tony” Lopez to create more flag football opportunities for families throughout the San Antonio area.

From the beginning, our goal has been to balance recreation with meaningful competition, giving beginners a welcoming place to learn while allowing teams to compete and earn the right to be called champions of their division.

The future of flag football is brighter than ever. With the sport making its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, young athletes can now dream of a pathway that may lead to national competition, Team USA, and the Olympic stage. ACYF is committed to helping players develop the fundamentals, confidence, and competitive experience needed to pursue whatever level of the game inspires them. LA28 confirms flag football’s 2028 Olympic debut.

Since 2022, ACYF has grown to serve families at multiple locations throughout the San Antonio area. As an official NFL FLAG league, we now offer seasonal leagues, camps, skills clinics, tournament teams, and independently hosted tournament events, all within an organized, family-friendly environment.
