Purpose:
Alamo City Youth Flag and its affiliated leagues are committed to providing a safe, fair, and competitive environment for all participants. This policy outlines how athletes are placed in age-based and sex-designated divisions.
Age Eligibility:
Athletes are grouped into divisions based on their age as of August 1 of the current league year.
Proof of age may be requested if necessary.
Division Structure:
Alamo City Youth Flag Offers the following types of divisions
- COED Division
- GIRLS Division
- BOYS Division
Division availability may vary my season and location.
Sex-Designated Divisions:
For purposes of division placement, gender shall be determined by the sex listed on the athlete’s original birth certificate.
In cases where a birth certificate is unavailable, other similar government documentation used for identification may be substituted.
Gender identity or gender expression does not determine eligibility for sex-designated divisions.
Athletes who are not eligible for a sex-designated division remain eligible to participate in available Coed divisions, where offered.
Documentation & Verification:
The League reserves the right to request documentation to verify eligibility when necessary. Failure to provide requested documentation may result in ineligibility for participation in a sex-designated division.
League Discretion:
Alamo City Youth Flag retains final discretion in all eligibility determinations in order to protect:
- Athlete safety
- Competitive fairness
- Equal opportunity for participants
All eligibility decisions made by the League are final.
